    Ada Lovelace

    Ada Lovelace (1815–1852) was an English mathematician best known for her 1843 notes on Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine, including a procedure to compute Bernoulli numbers. She is widely regarded as the first computer programmer and an early theorist of general-purpose computation.
